How it works
Truancy Call is desktop windows software that can be easily installed by the school. It integrates i.e. reads live student, staff and attendance information in real time with all the main Management Information Systems in the UK – RM Integris, Pearson Phoenix (Gold e1), Bromcom, Serco Learning (facility CMIS), SEEMIS Click Go and PARS (via SIMS attendance) with technical partnerships in place. With Capita SIMS, Truancy Call is the only system of its kind to have gained ‘Premier Partner’ status.
No additional hardware
The software is designed to be easy to install by your school, it is usually installed on the PC of the person or persons who are going to operate the system (there is an unlimited site licence). Their PC(s) require an internet connection, soundcard and speakers/headphones – no additional hardware or telephone lines in the school are required.
Simple to use
It is simple to use and virtually support free. However we will be on hand via email, web and the phone to offer all the assistance possible on installation, we will also provide, within the cost of the system, in-school training and further support will always be available to provide you with all the assistance you need.
Overview of the system
- Each School logging in has a unique ID and password which they use to access the Truancy Call desktop software.
- Once logged in, the school will press ‘Get Absent Students.’ This will retrieve all students with an unauthorised absence attendance code against them. Once checked school presses send/receive.
- The school confirms that they wish to send the calls, text messages or emails out.
- Phones calls, text messages and emails will go out to the parents. They will respond in the same way by texting, emailing or speaking into the phone the reason for their child’s absence.
- Text/Email responses can be viewed on screen. Responses to the phone calls are stored as a voice message which can be listened to through the speakers/headphones in school.
- Voice or text message responses are allocated the appropriate attendance code and expected date of return to school, that attendance code is written back to the school management information system*
* Not available for schools operating RM Integris or Pheonix Gold, as they operate read only databases
